We (The Arrowcreek Pickleball Club) will be co-sponsoring the "Battle of the Sexes Charity Event" for Pickleball on October 7th, in the Vista Room at The Club at ArrowCreek. The main event will be the televised competition between the #1 ranked women's single player Simone Jardim  and the #1 ranked senior men's player Scott Moore.

The original Billie Jean King vs. Bobby Riggs "Battle of the Sexes" in 1973 was viewed on TV by 90 million people. Inspired by this famous historic battle, Scott challenged Simone to a pickleball version after they both took gold medals at the 2017 US Open Pickleball Championships. She accepted immediately.

The pickleball version promises to be more competitive than the tennis one as the competitors are confident with their game and are determined to win. Scott says that the entertainment will be superior to the original battle's and will feature dance routines and additional double's battle between Simone and Corrine Carr vs Steve Dawson and Scott Moore.

The event will begin at 2pm and run until
4pm. The event will actually take place at the Bobby Riggs Tennis Club and the commentators will be Alex Hamner and Morgan Evans.

We will run a "Pick The Score" (for both singles and doubles events) Raffle and the money will go in the donation jar for St Jude's. Cost will be 50 cents a number and you can choose the winning square at the event!

We hope to use this event as a way to get more ArrowCreek Residence and TCAC members out on the Pickleball Courts and looking at joining and supporting our Arrowcreek Pickleball Club.
Donations will be accepted and will be go to the ST Jude's Children's Hospital and used for developing pickleball in Asia.

The cost is $10.00 per person and will cover the snacks (chips and dips and veggie plates). It will also help cover the cost of showing the event. There will be a bar for those who would like to order a stronger drink. You will be responsible for your stronger drinks. Please encourage folks that have talked about coming out to play Pickleball to join us at the event. It is a great way to introduce pickleball to them and them to us!

Please contact Kate: acpickleball@gmail.com to sign up by Friday October 6th.
